I have a 351c with a c-6 I can buy for a song. I've read the threads on putting a diff. engine in your truck even looked at that L&L engine mounting kits.
The one question I still have is my 1994 F-150 has a 4.9 with a 5 speed. Going to a older engine/trans set up can the speedometer be made to work with the old trans their is an electrical plug in the five speed, can I buy a adpator or something ? the temp and oil gages are of concern also.
This engine I can get is a carb modle so I'll disconnect the computer.
Thanks alot C.T.
I stuck a cummins in place of the 460 and all gauges ect work. Strange Ranger is correct, the speedo runs off the rear diff and has a seperate computer as does the ABS and cruise control which i adapted to fit my cummins.
buy the 351c for a song, sell it for more song than you paid, take the money and fix the six and keep it.. the time and effort to swap will not be worth it.
You have to swap a lot of things to do it right, and it can eat time and money quickly.
