I am getting cold air out of the driver side and hot air out of the passenger side.
I do have the dual zone climate control but they are not set so that one side would be blowing out AC while the other blows out full heat like I am getting now.
They had a lot of trouble with the electric actuators for the heater doors on those models. Fortunately for you, I think you can change the one for driver's side heat without too much trouble. I think the one for passenger heat is on the back of the unit and takes about 10 hrs labor to change.
Once you get it fixed I would think you will be fine. I had the blend door issue as well. But I don't think there have been problems with later 09/10 models.
What are the chances that this other side will go as well?
Have folks had both of them go or is it usually one or the other? I am curious to know.
Also, is this an electronic failure or is it a mechanical failure? I know Ford had blend door failure issues back in the 90's with Explorers and Rangers. Wonder if this is the same type of issue.
If u got luck like mine, This will not work for u but may be worth a try. His fix was in the last post on that thread
Thanks for the link to the other thread. His problem sounds just like mine. I will let you know if it works. First I need to know where on ebay he purchaed the DVD he refernces.
