silly newb. locking hub ?
Greetings. I am enjoying my new to me 2000 ex 4x4/7.3. Even in 2x4 its the best I have driven in the snow. It tracks great and I have to work to get it to fish tail on a snowy turn. Having said that I went to lock the hubs in and any marks to show which position is lock and which is unlocked has been worn off. Its a little embarassing to ask but can anyone tell me if I need to turn them clockwise or counter to lock in.

You can see on replacement hubs that it is the same way, clockwise to lock in, counter clockwise to disengage.

Same on the 2000. If the hubs are really worn, you won't see the markings of "Auto" and "Locked" and the little arrows and dots to show fully turned. Be carefull when turning them, if they don't want to turn clean them first. Ask me how I know...
