Door Locks In Gear

My 98 XLT door locks when I put it in gear. Does anyone know which wire I can cut to stop this from happening? I truck doesnt have the features to turn this off so I need to cut the wire.Just dont know which one.

Door Locks In Gear

You can turn off the autolocks. It's all part of the electronic locks. Here's how:

Get in and close doors
Turn on ignition
Press UNLOCK 3 times
Turn off ignition
Press UNLOCK 3 times
Turn on ignition, horn should chirp
Press UNLOCK once
Press LOCK once, horn should chirp
Turn off ignition, horn should chirp

dont forget that you need to do all that in a certain amount of time. isnt it something like 15 seconds or something. I do remember seeing it in the owners manual somewhere.

How about a 97 XLT? can I turn this feature on? or was it N/A until 98 or the E.B.?
My wife is a compulsive door locker, and this would ease her mind.

Everyone out there please take some advice--------READ your owners manual!!!!!!!!!!! All of it-------inside the Expedition would be a good choice--------------have a nice day.
