code PO356ign.coil F?
Tom and Bill,
Thanks for the replies, I'm not sure where I'm at with this, I've opened, cleaned & dielectric greased all the reachable wiring plugs on the engine and that's quite a few. I've swapped coils 5 & 6 and wiggled everything in site with car running to know avail. I would think if the PCM was bad (driver, whatever) that it would be less intermittent & I don't think I want to open it up since it is covered under the 8/80 emissions warranty. The last 2 days I've done 30 mile freeway runs at all rpm's up to 80 mph, cruised at 75 mph and 3500 rpm with a/c an o/d off & not a burble, no codes nada. However, just tonight when checking hot tranny fluid level, I noticed a clacking sound coming from the water pump pulley end of the front cyl.s intake cam. Screw driver to the ear test sounds the loudest right at the bump in rocker cover over the last camshaft bearing cap before the cam exits the cover to the water pump pulley. Looking at the service manual engine pixs, I don't see anything right there that should clack. Looks like another post search is in order to see if this is a problem area. May pull a rocker box tomorrow...Mark
