dana 60 strap kit
Hey all.
My front dana 60 uses the straps (as opposed to the saddles) to retain the front u joint. I almost didnt get them off for my tranny swap and now Ive got to replace the damaged bolts (yolk is okay).
From what i hve read, this is not a very desireable setup due to this and stretching of the straps over time. Is there a replacement yolk that I can purchase which will use the saddle straps with nuts/washers?
Perhaps this would be a good time to upgrade my driveshafts to a stronger steel and largest u joints available?
Thank you for your expertise.

And this is why it is important to be organized and finish your projects in a timely maner:
U bolts (not straps) attatch the front u joint to the front axle yolk. The bolts that I had were for attatching the very thick (and hiding under years of grease and road grime) strap-like caps on the u joint that is connected to the front of the transfer case!
No wonder every parts store I went to thought I was an idiot.
Its not that I did'nt know what I was talking about. Its just that I know so much that isn't so.
