Its the phaser rattle. About every third cold start. It lasts about 2 seconds.

Sounds like you figured that out fairly easy. I hope the 2013 phaser replacement is cheaper that a 04-08 5.4 phaser replacement.

Newbie Here

I bought my 2011 5.0 from my parents about 5 years ago. They bought it when it was just 2 years old at 80k miles. I'm now the 3rd owner with 181k miles currently. I love it, but I feel like I'm a coyote rangler now. Heh
