Whoo Hooo !

Finally got my Toy Box and Streering Column in. I'll blow it back apart to detail it and use locking hardware but I'm a happy guy because it finally steers ! Column is a '69 Olds 442 non-tilt. Fits my fat-A$$ perfectly and the mount bracket is more than strong enough.

Very Nice! Looks like plenty of clearance with the exhaust manifold too!

Really nice fit. I also really like the column drop. It's making me re think my plans for mine. I have that type of OE bracket on my column and I was going to remove it but not after seeing yours. If I may, I would like to use your design.

Great work.

Looks Great nice clean install. I just bought a Toyota box for my 1952. Do you need to buy of fab a bracket to mount it to the frame? I'm not going to be doing anything to mine until spring my tuck is in storage until then. I'm just trying to gather notes now.

Thanks, Matt

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

There are a few ways to mount the Toy Box. I used a scheme that others have used on this forum. Since I will use wide front tires, I wanted to distribute the stress into more frame area. DO NOT use a stock tie rod. Get the heavy-duty version with big rod-ends sold in various catalogs.

For those who are interested in the box mounting, check my Gallery for a brief how-to
