Replacing Stock Exhaust

Y'ello all...

I am about to replace my original OEM exhaust on my 00 V10 Ex. No mods or anything, just a basic OEM-match Walker cat-back replacement.

I was wondering what the easiest way is to pop off the rubber hangers from the studs. It looks pretty easy, but I wasn't sure if there were any tips/tools that might save me some time.

Also, should I put the heat shields back on the new system if they are in good shape?

BTW, I just replaced my front KYB HD shocks after 50k with Rancho RS5000's. I noticed a big difference... like night, and later that night.

Thanks heaps,

Homie

depends if u are planning on reusing the rubber hangers....

but wd-40, a long screw driver and one more lubricant.....
elbow grease will pop them off once the piping is loose...

but being past when I want to wrench, i went downt o the local taco, pc, and exhaust center and gave them $25 to weld my walker btm in...

try dielectric grease instead of wd-40... wd-40 isn't really that great for rubber

yep Yellow 77 that is used to pull cables thru conduit works great, spray silicon (food grade like is used to lubricate zippers on Dry Suits), and yes WD-40 will work as well. Even Soapy water will work.

The "correct" tool is a large , long screwdriver.............................
