Just recently purchased an '06 fx4, came with the 20" wheels on it, which are fitted w a pair of goodyear eagles. Looks great, but with the weather in central illinois, not so good for getting into the woods for hunting and cutting firewood. Have been looking at different wheels/tires, etc for winter use. Am i able to use a 17" rim on this truck? I was eyeing some 17" rims and some firestone destination m/t or some coopers with the same outside diameter as my current 20's. Thanks for the input.

 

Yes, you should be able to. My 06 XLT was shown on the door sticker to have have 17" but the original owner switched to FX4 style 18" wheels and tires. You will probably have a better selection of 17" tires than with 18" tires.
