cannot figure this problem out, everyone i asked doesnt know any help?
ok i have a 05 f250 with the 5.4 V8, within the last 6 months i have done new cam phazors, new cam sensors, and new plugs after all that truck ran great for 2 1/2 months. So this is whats going on, when my truck is cold and i start it up it runs and idles fine but as soon as i put it in gear to go, within a minute the truck has a HUGE power loss then engine light starts flashing, truck shakes and seems like it has a missfire or something but after a 10 minute or so drive the engine light goes off and everything becomes normal. Also if i am in that ten minute range at the begining where the truck is acting up and am at a red light the idle is horrible and bouces all over or stays around 1100 rps?
Please help with this if anyone has some advice where to start.
I had a similar problem only it happened when I was driving along and would floor it to pass. I got the same lights on the dash and power issues. I dont remember the specific codes but they were related to a misfire. I hit the area around the plug with air just in case there was any junk or water sitting and then removed, inspected and re-installed the coil and boot (no cracks, dry rot, etc.) on the cylinder that the codes referenced and it fixed it. Havent had the issue since.
Coils are common now days with cop setups. After getting the codes that will most likely tell you have a misfire in some cylinder I would look into getting coils.
i am going to go in about a half hour to get the codes read, can i just go to the parts store or should i go and get them read by an expensive scanner?
Po134 bank 2 lean ( no idea what that means)
po306 cylinder 6 missfire
po300 random missfire ( does it make sence that it only runs bad for the first 10 minutes if it was a missfire wouldnt it run bad all the time?)
Po340: cam shaft sensor
Po300: cam shaft sensor ( i did replace both cam sensors about 6 months ago when i did my tune up is it possible that they could already be bad?)
so 5 codes total this doesnt sound to good, is there any good place to start?
