I have a booster pump to help with extra fuel needed to supply the engine at WOT, haven't got it in yet, truck is still in pieces. The pump I have is a 43 gph inline unit. Is that strong enough? I ordered it awhile back so I cant remember what my justification on choosing that particular pump was.
Anyway, I can't seem to find a fuel accumulator to put between the stock pumps in the tanks and the booster pump. Anyone know where to find one or a different name they go by so I can get one ordered?
Do I for sure need a booster pump? Stock pumps are supposed to feed up to 350 hp (right?) but I should be over that.
There was a thread started earlier this year where the OP did some porting on stock heads of his 7.5L truck. He posted before and after HP/Torque charts from a chassis dyno. Long story short he was making around 350+ flywheel horsepower. The air/fuel ratio was getting dangerously lean in the upper RPMs. His factory 24 lb. injectors and stock fuel pumps were pretty much maxxed out.
The GEN1 Lightning guys have covered this territory before as well. You might take a look over on NLOC to see what those guys have come up over the years to feed those hungry Windsors.
