N00b here
Bought my first F-series last week. A 77 F100 Custom 2wd, 300 w/3spd on the column. Right now, it's my DD, and has already convinced me it's a good truck. Used to be owned by a church, and it's remarkably un-rusty, though it has a few spots. My understanding is that the 84000 miles it reads on the odometer are true original miles. I plan to slowly restore it, but it's doing a good job of getting me around. I had a Cummins-powered Dodge before this, and am glad to have something cheaper to own, and simpler, overall. Been in a Ford family forever, my dad had a supercharged 92 F150 5.0 that we used to tow a camper, back when I was younger. He's had an '04 and '07,both Lariats, since. I myself own a '93 Taurus SHO, and had an engine-swapped Escort station wagon when I was younger.
