Blue spring replacement

I've been helped quite a bit here and am learning by the minute. I have an 06, SDD. Was debating dumping the truck but decided to keep it and make it the best possible. Today I dropped it at local Ford and had a coolant flush, tranny flush with filter, fuel filters changed and I inquired about having the "blue" spring kit replacement for my fuel pressure regulator. The tech told me that my 06 had the updated spring from the factory. Is this true? Or was he lying to me? Also, I hadn't had the computer updated since I purchased it in 2006. I asked the service guy to do it and he told me it was still under warranty and he did it for free--he also pulled the egr and said it fine. I guess I have to take them at their word. I also ordered the Edge insight tonight to monitor stuff. Got the CTS version cause my eyes--they're bad. Thanks to those who helped me here! Great place to learn.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge yet? This will be a good indicator if you have the blue spring. Fuel pressure will be around 65 psi. I have a late build 06 and mine did not have the updated spring in it.

My 2006 did not have the updated spring either. I had fuel pressure that was too low at WOT.

Mine didn't either, but it was probably one of the first '06's made. (August 5th, 05)

If I recall correctly, the spring upgrade kit was released within the last year sometime. Since it's now almost 2011, I don't see how it could have been installed in any 6.0L at the factory.

Thanks guys. I should have expected this from the dealer. It's a shame you can't trust people. I'll order the kit from pge. Is there a thread showing installation of this kit I could refer to?
