Somethings apparently wrong with the rod that goes from the lock cylinder, the the ignition switch. i cant turn the car off, and the steering assembly looks like madness to try and disassemble to get to it.
Does anyone know which wires do what and where i can wire my own cut off switch in? thanks!
Yes. I pulled the switch off of its mount, cut out a slot from the metal barrior under the steering wheel, cut a slot in the plastic under the wheel. I start and stoop it by manually moving the switch by hand
Maybe these will help. I've placed the Ign Switch connector pin-out and wiring diagrams in a temporary folder. Also is the exploded Parts diagram for the steering column. These are posted temporarily so view/save/print or whatever but they'll be gone in a week or so.
So I explored around at Advance Auto Parts and found switches and a new key cylinder to hook up a whole new ignition system with key, to replace the stock ignition switch with a few switches to put it into run, aux, etc, a starter button, and assuming all switches are turned off, it will turn off. would anyone have any idea how to wire this using the diagram from NCRANCHERO? would be MUCH appreciated
