which serpentine belt?

Looking at o'reilly and Napa, belts range from 24 to 80 dollars.

Anybody have a favorite brand?

I've been running Gates belts. Both Napa and Carquest use Gates for their private label. Not sure about the others, but ask O-reilly who makes their belt.

I would suggest a gator back belt or one from the dealer. I bought my gator from checker that became O Reillys auto parts.

Make sure you get the right one though. There are two different ones for the single alternator trucks. One is 122.3" long while the other is 122.7" long. Has to do with the cold weather package. Usually the shorter one is the most common from what I have been told, by the parts guys I have talked to.

O-reilly's has two, the better belt is a gates, not sure about the cheepy. I just installed the better one. ($60)
My last two were Napa, ($38) they didn't last but a few months before they stared chirping and squeeling....

I agree with this statement as I had the same problem. It saves you zero dollars if you have to replace it two or three times quicker. Then when you look at the price of the better one at NAPA or Oreilys and edpartsguy prices--why not go with oem, unless you need it right now and you do not live in Seattle.

I tried a Gator back, but due to a pulley mis-alignment issue, that belt only ran for about 6 weeks before it got wrapped and ripped. Therefore, I can't speak to its serviceability because the alignment issue would have eaten any brand of belt. Funny thing is that I put my old spare Gates belt back on (I had taken it off back in the spring because it was chirping badly), and it is running like a top with absolutely no chirping at all. Yes, I did get the PS pulley re-aligned, too.
