need some help on my 2002 f-150 plugz wirez and mass a/f was just changed and having miss firing and back firing problems sometimez at idle itz worse under load it misses and backfires any help will be appreciated it has the 4.2 v6 2wd

first of all is your CEL (check engine light) on, if so get a code reader and see what it says, most autozones and other places like that will pull the codes for free in hopes of selling some parts, have them check even if the cel isnt on..
also info on the truck would help the more knoledgable, (engine, trans etc.)

ok now dont quote me on this, but on my old 97 ranger i got the same thing, bank 1 and bank 2 running lean, messed it all up, i like you threw a crapload of new parts at it with no success.. finally thanks to the ranger forum on here got it fixed, it was a leaking upper intake/plenum gasket leaking... i did search about it and these engines have the 'basically' same setup, so i wouldnt see it so far fetched for that to be you issue... just a suggestion as i have only had my 2002 f150 with the 4.2 for a whole 2 days now, so i am not used to it yet, but always a good place to start if syptoms are repeating on similar engines, anyways a link to the gasket set
