Hello all, I am having some issues with injector stiction. My truck is in with my repair guy getting some pressure testing done and I really think that I have to replace some injectors. My question is, should I just replace them all? I like alot of people have had rough cold idle and when she gets up to temp everything is good, from what I have read here that is what the issue is. The stealership told me that it also could be the ficm (wich by the way I hate how they pernounce that at ford) but wouldnt the truck not run at all if the ficm was failing? Anyways if I decide to replace all injectors does anyone out there recommend anything else other than what the dealer has to offer? Seems extremely pricy and I can find them for less than half of what they want... I really love my truck though, and this is a great site. I dont offer much to say but I have been reading this site daily for a couple years, any help would be greatly appreciated!
You can get rebuilt injectors from places other than a Ford dealer but you're asking for trouble. You should be able to find them for about $205 plus the core charge. You can have a failing FICM and the truck will still run. You can do a simple FICM voltage check (see tech folder) and that will tell you a lot.
Thanks for the reply! There is no way I would put rebuilt injectors in my rig, but I figured someone has put other brands in or has found oem cheaper than what Ford can offer. They told me 330 a piece and I though that was a little high but like you said I have found them for about 180 plus a 75 dollar core charge wich I dont fully understand what that charge is for? Would it be wise to replace all or one by one? Or if its just one should I replace the four on that side? He also is testing the ficm as well... Thank you for all input!

ummmmmm.....where did you find them for $180 plus $75 core. Shoot me a PM if you don't mind. That's a LOT cheaper than I can find them. The core charge is to make sure you return the old injectors so they can be remanufactured.
There is only ONE brand because there was only ONE manufacturer. There are NO new 6.0 injectors anymore. They are all remanufactured, the Ford ones are just better and have a 12/12 guarantee.
I just spoke with Ford and they, like you said only offer a reman on all there injectors for the 6.0... 330 a piece plus a core charge... I am finding oem rebuilts at injectorwhse.com with the exact same 12,000 mile warranty! Plus a 75 dollar refundable core charge if returned within 30 days. Let me know what you think...
Never heard of them. I'd want to know who did the remanufacture for them. Too many bad injector sellers out there to screw around with it, especially if someone else is doing the job.
I know you can get them in Minnesota for $205 each from a FORD dealership and they will be good injectors. Partsguyed might actually beat that price. You'd just have to contact him.
anyone know some symptoms of injector failure my truck sounds like its pumping air or has a real low bellowing sound to it and a bad miss how hard is it to replace injectors yourself im mechanically inclined but should i let somone else do it

All 6.0L injectors available are rebuilt.. or at least all of Motorcraft's injectors are rebuilt ones.
I just replaced all 8 (I had 5 of 8 bad after 183,000 miles) and when I called around to 2 Ford dealers and 2 non-Ford on-line sellers, everyone only had/has rebuilt injectors and that new/non-rebuilt injectors were not available... not sure why, but that is what I was told???
Since the valve cover gaskets must come off as well as some of the other stuff on top, the labor to replace injectors is in the valve cover removal and install... the injector replacement is not all that hard or long... it's getting to them and putting it all back together that takes time.
The answer to your question about how many or all to replace depends...
1) How many miles on truck and/or injectors?
2) Your budget?
3) Are the bad injectors all on the same side of the motor or on both sides?
4) Have diesel tech hook up to computer (when totally cold in the AM) and show you on his screen how all injectors are performing... and then manually do a "load test" to show how well or bad they perform... are they bad or just weak.... if weak, how weak? You do not want to keep coming back and piece-mealing your injector repair... so this test will tell you if they are bad, weak or jOK.
They have a great parts website and very competitive pricing. When I called them, they quoted me less for the 6.0L injector than what was on their site.
BTW, I paid $243.00/each (Fleet pricing, but also available for good customers) for my injectors at my local Ford dealer here in Kansas City... since I just replaced all 8 of them 2 weeks ago. There was no shipping charges and no core charges for me to worry about... and I get the Ford warrenty to go with it all since it was done at my local Ford dealer... which is worth something to me.
