Gas gauge floating

Gas gauge floating
left for work yesterday, was 1/2 between 3/4 and full.
get a couple miles down the road, and i'm at just about 3/4, sitting in the drive through for my mcgriddle, it's under 3/4, get down the road and it's back up a little,
leave work last night and i'm back to just about half between 3/4 and full (drive to work is 7 miles stop and go).
on the way home, dropped back to just over 3/4.
input, do i have a sticky floater, or something in the electronics
