Drive shaft change?
I have been tracking down an odd feeling on my 1977 F150 2wd with a slightly modified 460 ( ~350 hp) and 2200 stall convertor. Seems the new chev silverados have the same issue - it is described as a "crunching" feel related to the 2 piece driveshaft distorting under heavy acceleration. I have no bad feelings cruising down the highway at 70mph, everything sounds normal. It just feels like I am going to break something when I flat foot it away from a green light. I know there are some people that run a LOT more power through this setup without any issue - should I revise what I have and try to fix it, or just have a 1 piece shaft made? I have not torn the axle apart yet, but it does not get warm at any of the bearings and has good oil in it.
