Looking into purchasing a 2005 Ford Excursion V10 4x4.
I am going to be putting a plow on the Excursion. I want to know if the front end of the 2005 Excursions are the same as the 1999-2004 Ford Excursions/F-250's/F-350's, as i would be taking the plow frame from my 2002 Ford F-250.
I do know that in 2005, Ford changed the frames and springs to coils on their Superduty truck, and that my plow frame will NOT work with a 2005-2007 Superduty.
However, from looking at the pictures of the Excursion i plan to purchase, it appears the frame and leaf springsis the same as the 1999-2004 Superduties. The only thing that appears different between a 2004 Excursion and a 2005 Excursion is the front bumper/grill/headlights...
I just read in another discussion that the '05 frame is listed as a different part number. Mostly because the mounting holes for the front coil springs are there in '05. Not sure if there were any changes to the front frame rails where the plow would mount up.
Consider calling the plow maker to see if they show the same '02 plow kit fitting the '05 Excursion.
