This is a follow up to my post a couple days ago sorry if i should not of started it i am still kinda new.My post was GPR?????? So tonight it was 24 degrees and I was home early. Finally got it to start I put new batteries on and still had trouble getting it pop off finally when it did it sounded terrible almost like it wasnt hitting on all 8. I let it warm up for about 30 min drove it a short distance and seemed fine all this in the stock tune.for those of you that didnt see my previous post I put new GP and relay on last week . I guess my question is do you guys think it could be my wire harness under my valve covers or a connection I thought I was real carful to get everything back right but it does have 260k on everything . Just need some ideas from some of the best guys I know and have yet to meet any of you I hope to someday THANKS
I think you should drive it a couple days and let us know how it does. You may be in good shape now.Did you install a GPR LED so you can tell when the gp's are hot?
Have you tried turning on the key and waiting about 40 seconds for the GPs to get the combustion chambers well heated? If you listen for the fuel pump to turn off that is about 20 seconds. Recycle the key and when the fuel pump stops the second time that will be about 40 seconds and then go to start. I have a fuel pressure gauge and use it as a timer.
Edit: Clay was to fast for me, not to mention Barry and Chris.
I cycled them several times while cranking i would say atleast 10 times I even got out my test light and put it on GPR and waited for it to go out .I do not have a light hooked up to my GPR I have one just not hooked up yet always left the key on for several seconds after WTS light went out It really didnt smoke much when it started so idk. I use delvac 15/40
