going bigger

Ive got 2s and a d66 right now but i want to go bigger and have a reliable 13 second truck.

250/200 hybrids
Terminator twins
d66 for awhile, then upgrade to a gqssb....
built transmission (BTS)

Those are the essentials... anyone got anything to add? Obviously the supporting mods to go along with it!

Jim who?? The tuning is the easy part.... dang near any tuner loves the bigger injectors. So much room to play with things and dial it in, the nozzle especially!

Tony Wildman tunes it right now, he may come to my place and live tune it if i need him to. But bean also said he could dial in that setup nearly perfect over the phone.

If your talking about Jim Roosewood, he is must of been mistaken or something. a 250/100 or 250/200 is a super common injector. Lots of guys run them. Maybe he just doesnt build his DIY setup into a 250???

call up Full Force diesel and talk to Cass

tons of people run 250s, that will be a potent combo, im starting to rethink 200% nozzels! and youll deffinely need head studs, push rods and valve springs if you want the hybrids. youll murder that d66, its nothing more than a stock turbo with a bigger intake and exhaust wheel on it. so more boost on a turd journel bearing, later!!

haha i know exactly what the 66 is.... beans has it on his personal truck with 238/100 hybrids and its running perfectly.

With the correct tuning to keep pressures down it can happen, but i realize its not meant to be.

And 200% nozzles FOR SURE. So much more room for the tuner to play with things....

You're probably going to need electric fuel also I would go with the bts twin oil pumps much better design in my opinion you can have them install the pumps when your trans is there. Let us know how the gqssb works I want one. Is it a t4 mounted turbo? Can you get the t4 mount from murf racing then buy just the turbo from wide open? It'd save about $1500 .don't know if wide open will sell it that way I haven't researched it enough

The GQSSB is a T4i flange but you can make it work with a T4 mount. And yes WOP will sell you just the turbo.
Derek I think you'll want to do the turbo sooner rather than later. 250/200's is gonna be a lot for the D66 unless you have the tuning dumbed way down, but what fun is that? I don't know anybody running 250/200's but I do know a few guys running (or at least were running) 250/100's and seeing what they are capable of that's the way I want to go eventually.

hybrids and big oil is a winning combination.

Turbo is a key part though.

a D66 isn't near enough air for 250/200's IMO and neither is a GQSSB. Look into a GT4294R w/ a 1.01 housing or a similar sized S400(70-72mm). While those small turbos will spool lightning fast, your wanting injectors that can easily put you into the 600hp ball park, but yet only looking at turbos that are for the 400-500hp crowd. If you want to run the smaller turbo, step down to a 238/80% or 100% for the sake of the turbo... Either way you won't be able to run all out w/ hybrids on a D66. The GQSSB would be at the end of it's power range also unless you do an external wastegate w/ nitrous..

the bigger turbos can be had and spool fairly well also if you get the correct housing and turbine wheel combination. Heck there have even been S366's dyno close to 600hp in these trucks w/ 250's so don't limit your choices too much.

FYI, Cody is running 238/200% in his sled puller w/ a 76mm turbo. It takes some RPMs to spool, but I have driven it on the street and it is drivable if your light on the go pedal. I'd think a 70mm would also be pretty drivable on the street w/ 250/200's.

I talked to Jacob awhile back about the GQSSB. If you want to go the cheaper route, get the Murff T4 kit and a turbo w/ a T4 housing(S400, S300, GT series, etc.). These turbos are cheaper than what WOP wants for their modified S300's w/ a T4I housing on them.

modded H2E is good for close to 600hp also. Good turbo choice for a daily driver w/ those injectors. Also a 71mm modded H2E would be good too.
