Battery Light
Ok, Please help me with this confusing issue/issue's. Driving or just setting there idling at random the bat. light comes on, sometimes the gauge pegs out at 18+ and it clicks under the dash. Then just as fast it stops and everything normal. The dome lights won't work during the issue, the lights get very bright (headlights). then sometimes just the bat. light will be on and no click or gauge change. The battery keeps a fine charge. Have been told the Voltage Regulator. It may act up 1 or 2 times in 10-20 miles. seems to be triggered when stopping or at idle. If I turn it off and restart it, it's just fine till next issue. Any ideas??

I would go and get your charging system checked. You can do it for free at NAPA/Autozone and some other places.
At the same time you can check the price on a new alternator.
What year/motor are we talking about?

Agreed, voltage regulator which is internal. Best bet unless your familiar with alternators is just replace it. If you want a good upgrade check out DC power engineering. Top notch customer service and good warranty. Be leary of box parts stores reman units.
