I would recommend sending the forged rods to Wide Open Performance to get cryo'd and shotpeened. Anything I build will be cryo'd and balanced.

Andrew, if you don't mind me asking.. How are you going to get a cummins in your truck, running with 750hp and have only $10k in it. I ask b/c my buddy is way over that on his 12v and the engine is not running in the truck yet and has stock fueling abilities.

We built the engine ourselves in his shop, used the stock rods, but had them cryo'd by 300 Below, o-ringed stock head w/ springs, titanium retainers, chromoly pushrods, Mahle pistons w/ .050 valve reliefs and plenty of bowl work, girdle, 14mm main studs, 12mm head studs, header, 66mm turbo, destroked conversion parts(bought used), Airdog fuel system, Hamilton Big Stik cam, etc. He hasn't bought a BTS yet either, but he is over $20k in parts and machining...

Here is my list so far.. I can build 750hp for that.. I am shooting for 1000+hp..

I'm working on my build list right this minute.. i'll post it..

Cummins Parts list and locations..

Gasket kits
Lower gasket kit - $150 (Check)
Upper Gasket kit - $211 2003-2007 Common Rail 5.9L

Rod swap
Pistons (Check) Swaintech.com
Machine work.. Call WOP for $ quote
Main Bearings - $50 (check)

Engine Work
Industrial Injection work quote
Injectors -$40 a injector – rebuild $170
Rods - $ 120 shotpeened $30 balance
Headwork $ 2300

Turbo Kit
***Secret***
Fuel HP Side
Dual CP3’s $1500
Nozzles $50 (check)
Rail pressure gauge - $100 (check)

Fuel Low Side
Fass - $280 (Check)
FP Gauge - $40 (Check)

Intake
CFM+ intake elbow - $200 (Check)
Spool-Aid - $350 Michael.shelswell@gmail.com

Head
F1 Helix 2 Cam - Trade 66mm turbo for cam and cash
F1 Valve Springs - 200
Pushrods??? (NEEDED?)
Intake Manifold (NEEDED?)

Chip
Smarty $525
MP8 $200

Suspension
OUO Traction Blocks - $800

Transmission
BTS Tranny - $4200

Conversion Parts
Motor Mounts - $150 (check)
Adapter Plate - $795
Flexplate - $625
Tranny controller - $825
Powersteering Bracket - $145
Altenator Bracket - $350
Tach kit - $200
Harness wiring - $500

total: $16,246

Engine price: $2250

This should be for a truck close to 1000hp.. The engine will be pretty much brand new as well. Ohh yeah. I got a fancy blue bottle in the shop.
haha..

If one were to go buy a CR engine you could snag a one w/ dodge tranny for around $5000. This would drop alot of extra costs on adapter plate and flex plate. You could build as you go then. I don't wanna do a cam install in the truck. I would rather flip the engine upside down and install the cam. Same way with the dual CP3's.. I would rather have them on it when it goes in.. Also add $50 for whatever wild color I decide to paint the engine haha..

Yeah I think just all the parts to get a stock cummins in a truck and running can get up there around $3k depending on the swap. Then you have the costs of an engine rebuild, performance parts, machining, wiring, etc.

EDIT: So it's actually going to be $16k with the engine in the truck and running. That makes a little more sense, but I'm wondering where my buddy spent an extra $7k without buying p-pump parts, BTS, or injectors.. Maybe it was the fancy intake manifold, maybe it was all the machining we had done(line bore, block deck, head rebuilt, piston rings gapped, etc.). This 12v should be close to 1000hp on nitrous also. Gonna be fun.

Right around $4000 if you use GOS performance quad mounts and have them do the harness for you.

They are $655. (Destroked mounts are $300) The GOS hold up under high HP.. However.. I snagged a set of destroked mounts for $150 tho..

Roughly.. I got the truck for $7000. I parted the engine.. As of now I do not have a dime in the build. All those parts w/ (Check) by them were paid for with sold engine parts.

This truck will be totally for play. If I was gonna build a cummins convo for work I woulda stuck w/ the 5r110 and keep the engine pretty mild..
