I noticed one parking/marker light was out so I bought the bulbs (1157 Amber). It turned out it was not the bulb. It was the socket. The socket somehow got wet and over the long time the spring metal inside was very badly corroded. The bulb has two filaments (one for park/marker other for turn signal). The metal piece for park/marker is gone. The turning signal metal was corroded but still there I was able to hoax it so it still flashes. I looked up and down, advanced auto, autozone, schucks/o'reilly websites as well as the manufacturers Dorman and BWD online catalog. Found nothing I can use to replace the socket.
Where can I find the parts? The socket is 3-wire, white pastic housing, about 1.5" diameter, 1" long, filled with putty like stuff. Thanks in advance.
My recommendation would be to go to your local salvage yard to try to find a replacement. Since the old socket is unusable and needs to be replaced anyway, you may want to cut it off of the harness and take it with you for comparison. If you can not find another Aerostar to get a replacement, find another Ford vehicle and compare its socket with yours. Or, pull off the socket from the light housing and see if yours will fit into the hole. Make sure to take any gaskets or bushings that might be on the socket, as those are supposed to keep water out of the electrical contact area.
Update:
Found the right socket on ebay - nowhere else I could find it.
Thought someone might need the socket here is it (this is the exact replacement though it says for 1981 to 1993 Ford):

Thanks for the tip.
I'm going to save that info and contact the seller to see if they would sell multiple items with reduced shipping cost. (I doubt it. That's how they increase profits....)
