4x4 issues plowing

While plowing only I had issues with my 4x4 dropping out. I thought it was the hubs so I manually locked them. I still had problems. Seems when I put enough load on the electrical system I both loose the 4x4 and radio/cd function. Not so much radio, but Cd's will stop. Now the plow is a MVP western. It's a big one on my 01 SD. The battery load tests good, but it is still original. People have suggested replacing it. Anyone think it will help me with these issues?

4x4 and radio work flawless otherwise.

Those two functions along with the chime for door ajar all share the same ground. Might be loose or corroded.

Pull the cover under the steering column. The same big cover that gets u to fuse box. That whole big area will be a rectangle. Fuse box will be on left side. In the upper right corner, will be 2 eyelets that are mounted on the same bolt all the way to the right. Check that for looseness or corrosion.

When I had my 04' F-350 V-10,,,I noticed a big difference with only having 1 (one) Battery with using the plow,,,nothing went Bad,,or stopped working ,,But noticed with Heater/fan on,,,lights on, wipers,,,,they all Dimmed or worked slower when using plow functions, compared to the 2 Batteries on the Diesel trucks

Replace the battery. Check ALL the connections, grounds, solenoids, etc.

Apply Fluid Film to all of the above.

Then, test the alternator to make sure it is charging properly.

If you got more than 36 months out of a battery on a plow truck, you are living on borrowed time.

Today I checked every ground I could find. Nothing discovered out of the ordinary.

I checked the vacuum system. Hubs both engage and disengage as they should.

I took off both hubs to inspect for any damage. None was visable.

I checked the function of the transfer-case. Indicator light for the case is on, when the case is infact engaged.

Rechecked charging system. Passed with flying colors.

Rechecked battery. It didn't pass this time. Showed to be weak. So a new one is on the list.

Going to replace the vacuum lines from the frame to the hubs also. They are looking rough.

I'll do that, and give it another go.
