How to keep your cab clean?
If you ever went to a high end auto show and wondered how they got the car looking so mirror like, this is one of the steps.
I was asking about orange peeling on these new trucks. Orange peeling is the effect that makes your vehicle's paint look like an orange peel in sunlight. It is caused by the paint application being done at the wrong pressure or too far away from the vehicle. Most of these new vehicles are painted by some sort of robot and the quality should be better, but even a robot has a bad day.
As far as the shoes in the truck, I have a pair of crock's I wear to drive. I keep my steel toe boots under the rear passanger seat in the storage box, along with my hard hat which gets quite dirty at times. I have the rubber fitted floor mats for the front, and my wife found 2 bathroom rugs that match the floor carpet almost exact color. I keep the two of those streched across the rear floor board at all times. I carry a blanket in the back seat, that is two fold. If I am dirty, it covers the driver seat until I can get clean, and if I have to stay on location over 24 hours or more, it replaces holding onto a pillow when I nap. Also, the steering wheel is notorious (sp) for being on of the most dirty places on my truck, so I carry an orange waterless hand cleaner and scrap wrags in easy access in the fuel tank tool box combo. My last truck was quite a bit darker on sale date than on purchase date due to dirt, grime, and smoke resedue. I am trying to prevent the same thing from happening again. Also, windex and a microfiber cloth is an awesome way to clean the headliner. I could not believe the difference after my wife spent about an hour on the old truck.
At 2 weeks old, I just did my first oil change today. 5001 miles.
