i just got an autometer trans temp gauge and i want to hook it up to my truck. i have a 1995 ford f150 e405 trans and 5.8l 2wd. has anyone hooked one of these gauges up to their trucks and if so how.
Tap into the side of the trans pan , i use an autometer on mine but with a alum pan , you might need to weld a bung on the stock pan , should come with the gauge...Lew
Yea I added one to my plow truck, I didn't want the sending unit down under the truck.
Plowing snow its not uncommon to drive through/over deep piles of heavy snow while doing so, because of that I put the sending unit behind the grill instead, inline at the inlet side of the first fluid cooler.
My inferred gun and gauge both agree with each other so I know its close enough.
The pan yea likely the best spot, in the pressure tap just above it is also a suggested location.
