I've been trying really hard today to behave myself....there's a truck on Ebay that I found that looks like it's a really nice rig. It's a 78 F250 4x4, with 400, C6, probably a 203 transfer case from the looks of it, and added rear helper airbags. It's also got the auto locking hubs which apparently work. The other thing that caught my attention is that it's got a factory canopy on it as well...looks like it's in excellent condition.
There's a video on the ad, and the truck sounds pretty smooth to me. One thing that caught my cynical eye was the fact that the exhaust, transfer case, tranny and starter have all been painted, which makes me wonder...not sure why but it does. I don't know if those wheels are factory Ford, but they're kinda cool too.
Anyway, I'm doing my best to talk myself out of it, but I figured it's only right to let you guys know about it....

He must have gotten a buyer...the bidding ended about 22 hours before it was supposed to. He said he had a potential buyer in Alberta that was all wound up over it...maybe that's what happened.
It's weird that the listing still says that you can buy it for 8900.....the last bid was 7850. Oh well...at least I can calm down about it now.

Pretty clean. It's very close to my 79, right down to the Factory cap. Mine is an XLT, and all white with a few more options. Nice find for someone, just depends on the final price even though it's a little more than I'd pay considering the paint and tie down's on the bed. Not a fan of the "Auto" hubs, full time, etc,either.
