But as franklin was saying. The ONLY way to get a 4wd dually form 80-97 was a cab-n-chassis. It is not that difficult to mount a regular dually bed to it BUT. the wheel bases are different than pick ups. For example.. a reg cab 8' bed pick up has 133" wheel base. a reg cab cab-n-chassis w the shortest frame made has a 137" wheel base. SO you either will have a 4" gap between the cab and bed or you will have to shorten the frame.

if you want a 4wd crewcab(4 door), dually, you would be best suited to buy a truck like you found and then convert it to a dually

thats what i figured but this one is expensive for having no gas tanks im gunna talk to him and see if hell take less with out the system cuz i could care less for the stereo.

yea but would you pay 1500 for that truck? Its a non runner that would turn into a dd? Im pretty good at workin on gas motors but ive never had a diesel before so simple is the best place to start and id like to have some money to learn with after i buy the truck

I wouldnt pay 1500 for a ferrari that didnt run. Coarse I wouldnt pay for 1 in the first place haha

I guess you guys are spoiled by the no rust thing. Up here in PA. The bed off the truck is worth almost 1000, the cab another 1000, the nose 500 and the diesel radiatior support you could name ANY price. Then of course the there is the drivetrain and frame

i could understand that but the whole contamination thing rele worries me cuz what was it contaminated with and did it get in the fuel lines and did it get into the motor

It takes 15 minuets to pull the injectors and a can of carb cleaner and compressed air to flush the fuel lines. You would have it running In a Day.You could probably get it for 1000 and less than 500 in parts getting it running. But that is just me.

Hell, low ball him at 500, Tell him it is a big chance to take without it running, the motor,trans,axles may be shot

true ive never worked on a diesel before so im kinda new at all of this but ive worked on gas motors for 5+ years so im gettin good at that but i know diesel is a whole different ballgame

Did you look under it to make sure it had a 60 in it? The early '85's still had the 50TTB.

Only on a rare occasion will a 85 have a D60. I actually have never seen one, just heard rumors
