Drag link hitting spring on left turn.
I've got my truck ('79 F250 4X4) on the road and took it in for a wheel alignment before I put the new 35" MT's on. The front end guy was saying that the drag link was too long. That with it wound right in I still couldn't get the same turning radius that I get on a right turn. That's one problem and I think that I can solve that one, maybe by shortening a 1/2" off each end of the drag link. Either that or take off the drop pitman arm, which would give me the needed clearance on the spring and maybe even staighten out the too long drag link.
The main problem is that when I turn left and hit a bump, the front of the drag link is hit by the Skyjacker 6" lift spring. I've got the lift block, lift kit drag link and the drop pitman arm on the truck. Should I lose the drop Pitman arm? Like maybe I've got too much compensation for the 6" lift?
The drag link sits level, maybe even down just a smidge.
What ya' think,
Pat
