If I were you I would buy an aftermarket spring pack. My father used to have a 90 F-250 HD diesel 4X4 that he put add-a-leafs in so that the truck would not nose down so bad with a 8' snow plow. It rode great with the plow on (about 900 lbs), but once you took the plow off it was like you were riding a bucking bronco. So stiff that it even the littlest bump felt like you ran over a crub at 60 mph. If you don't want to pay the big price tag of a new spring pack, then maybe look at useing 1 or 2" blocks.

I think you would be better off with a leveling kit that includes new front spring packs. Cheap would be a add a leaf kit but like PHS79 said , it will give you a very stiff ride. Never run blocks up front, very unsafe.

Question leveling kit

i too am having questions about lifting the front. I have an 89 F250 that I was trying to lift 2-3 inches. I decided on a body lift for ease and to prevent alignment problems (TTB) later on. I ordered the body lift and removed the canopy from the bed and now i noticed it sits higher in the back w/o the added weight. I am interested in lifting the front suspension now about 1- 1.5 inches at the most. I have considered the add-a-leaf but am also worried about ride. I have considered taking another leaf or two and cutting it real short (6-8") just enough to fasten in the perch and bolts. this would give me a little lift, the thickness of the springs plus the safety of having them bolted into the actual spring pack, same basic ride, cheap, and hopefully not affect the alignment. Anybody tried this with satisfactory results?

thanks

Robert
