camshaft position sensor
I'd appreciate help in locating the camshaft position sensor on my E-150 Club wagon 1997.
I thought I found it behind the air cleaner, but the connection didn't match up. It may be possible that AUTO ZONE sold me the wrong sensor, but I have had really good luck with them so it is most likely my mistake.

If this is a 4.2L engine, it's behind the waterpump, passenger side, mounted at about a 45 degree angle on the engine front cover.
Technically, you do need a special tool to install this with the correct ignition timing. If the engine runs rough after replacing it, take it to the dealer. It's less than an hour's labor to have it installed correct.
