cleaning axle
It works very well on heavy grease build-up if you let it sit. Don't use in the hot sun where it dries too fast. I have used it on engine compartments. Best if you have a hose with good pressure to clean-up. It leaves a slimy feeling residue behind. You can follow up with a strong detergent to get the oven cleaner residue off. The new engine degreasers must be enviro friendly now because they don't work like they used too. A can or two of oven cleaner goes a long way. A case is way too much.
That slimey feeling is from the sodium hydroxide, get it on you in a strong concentration and you will be losing skin.
The other word for it is "lye".
Castrol "Super Clean" is a lot friendlier to your wellbeing and is available in WalMart in gallon jugs. Dont mistake it for the wheel cleaner by the same name.
Spray on concentrated and hose off. I use one of those WalMart Campbell Horseplop pressure washers when Im serious about cleaning.
