getting 3.55 gears?

getting 3.55 gears?

hey wonderin how hard it would be to get 3.55 gears for a d60 front axle

Just depends on how hard you want to empty out your wallet.....

Like everything else, it's partly regional, and it depend son how fast you want them. Want it in a hurry and you're going to pay more to get it. Wait and keep your eyes and ears open, and you can likely save a few bucks.

not hard. most were 4.10's but 3.55's are out there. you want used try site mash : chevelle parts : craigslist parts finder and do a search for them. just make sure if you have reverse cut gears that you get them again or they wont fit.

in the search, replace chevelle with whatever you want. craiglook.com got shut down so this is the next one til craigslist shuts them down too.

well now that i think bout it how hard would it be to put 4.10's in front and back or should i get a new back axle? and wat would it do to my fuel milage with the 37's

I had 4.10's with 37's and when hauling 12k behind me I was getting just over 16 mpg.

pre turbo towing the same load I was almost 13. Hard to tell unloaded because I've got less then 1000 miles on it without a trailer.

oh ya, anything is better then a 460 lol. im sure unloaded you will be around the 15-16mpg mark.

ok i like that lol and ya that 460 is horrible but he got it so he could pull a horse trailer round town instead of our 78 with a 302 that can hardly pull it empty

your 6.9 will out pull that 460 once you get the gears. it will have a nice little lunge to her step

ya it will be nice the 460 has ***** pullin hills when my 6.9 dont though so maybe the 4.10 will help that
