Power Locks - Keyless - remote start

Hello all,

I need some help here, something just is working for me. I am installing a remote start for my 97 F-350 7.3, and I cant seem to figure out how to get the door locks working on this thing. Its a Prostart CT-3471 TW two way system. The wires on the remote start system are:

(-)Negative door input
(+)Positive door input
(-)Lock output
(-)Unlock output

I have a wiring diagram and tryed hooking it up what seems logical to me and well it dont work I tryed running positive door input wire to the breaker (black/white) then I tied into lock output wire with the lock wire on the truck (pink/yellow) and same with the unlock and nothing I tryed jumping wires all over the place just to see if i can trigger both locks without the switch, just cant seem to figure it out. I need some ideas here..

Thanks.

Im not sure if the system is exactly the same but I have installed keyless entry on both my 88 and 97 F150's and they were similar if not identical. You said you had wiring diagrams so i will post the before and after from my install and if the before is the same as your diagram then it should work for you as well. Ford uses "Reversing polarity" door lock actuators, most aftermarket keyeless entry systems require the addition of 2 "Single Pole Double Throw" or SPDT relays to work with these lock systems. I picked mine up on Amazon for like $3 each. As for the Door Input wires, I'm not sure but I believe these are to go to the door pin switches (or whatever tells the truck the doors are open) to tell the keyless entry module the doors are open. Only one of those 2 inputs will be used, some vehicles have door switches that supply 12v when the door is open and some ground out, I believe Ford uses ground out. Im don't know much more about that,as that is what i am searching for.

The Pink&Yellow wire and the Pink&Light Green wire connect the Drivers and Passengers Lock switches, and are grounded when no switch is pressed. These wires need to be cut and wired to the relays as shown below. Be sure to use a large gauge(AWG12) wire to supply the relays(from the Blk/wt wire to pin 87), those lock motors pull some juice.

I hope this helps.

Great diagram.... can't get it to work?

I realize this thread is old, BUT

I am trying to hook up a remote door lock on a truck I am rebuilding for my son who is away in the Navy, kind of surprise for him when he gets back home.

Anyway, it is a 88 Ford F150 with factory door locks. I got the relays and hooked them up exactly as in your diagram, but all they do is 'buzz' or 'chatter' when I hit the remote. I bypassed the remote/alarm and just touched a negative wire to the lock/unlock and the same thing. The switches on the doors still work. Any ideas?

BTW, I read your recent post about getting broken into, why don't you just put in additional door switches just for the alarm?

Thanks!
