rough idle on 302
Things I know about truck, the catalytic converter is gone so the vacuum lines to the exhaust air supply valve are plugged/gone. Truck motor was pulled from a 94 F150 and installed by a "great" mechanic (note the sarcasm).
Im lost as of this point. Call this a dumb question if you want, but if the catalytic converter is gone would it run rough? The O2 sensor before the CC is in place. I don't know.
I figure the o2 code is from not having a catalytic converter and o2 sensors but the guy said the MAF would bring that one up. I do not know what the below volt one means for the MAF. It has a new one, I tested it and it worked.
I changed the spark plugs, wire, dist cap and rotor. It seems to run just as bad. I properly gapped the to the sticker on the truck, they are motorcraft plugs. One thing I noticed was that when I got the truck the previous owner had 2 wires switched on the cap. When you would switch them back to the proper firing order position the truck acted as if it was missfiring. So I put them back on properly, and it dosent seem right. But I didn't think you can alter the firing order. Did the compter learn to run like that?
So anyways I am still lost completely. Any ideas folks?
I am getting to the point with it that I am about to sell it....

anyone in WI wanna a 95 f150? Ha.
