If you install HID's, just make sure to adjust the beam downward. The stock position had my beams just a little high and I would get flashed. I dropped the beam focus with the adjustment behind the headlight and they no longer bother oncoming drivers or cars I'm sitting behind. I'll bet the guys getting tickets are the ones who fail to adjust their beams after installing the HID's.
So are you satisfied that the 55's are not too bright?
Did you also put 55's in the fogs or go with 35's to keep the temp down?
I don't have my truck yet so I don't know what type of bulbs, are these trucks hi-lo bulbs or separates?

If you judge too bright by the number of the oncoming cars that flash their lights, then they are not. I did not change the bulbs in the fog lights yet but I intend to do so. They are as single bulb system that switches from high to low via relay.
