hey, my bulb for the "passenger air bag off" light burnt out.
how do i replace it?
do i have to pull the dash, whats the process here.
i cant seem to find it from just feeling around underneath
Well, just in case nobody else on here has said it already, welcome to FTE. The guys on here are pretty helpful, but they have to know what you are talking about first. With any problem, not just this one, be as descriptive as possible about your vehicle and the problem you're having. What year is your truck? This is the bare minimum if you want someone to answer this particular question.
Also, making a signature with all your vehicle's info will keep you from having to type it up every time.
lol, sorry about that, in my last car forum, i had all that info in the sig and completely forgot that i had to include it.
truck is an 03 F-250 xl 2wd single cab long bed. its white if that makes a difference lol. jk.
i can tell by the bulb codes that th bulb is burnt out, but i cannot seem to locate the bulb by feeling around under the dash.
it looks like if i pulled the radio i might be able to access it, but i am hoping there is another way because i put in an aftermarket radio and have since lost the tools to pull it.
That is part of the dash cover, it just pops off, to make it easier to get off put the truck in neutral and set the emergency brake. Then unplug all connectors so you can remove the cover to easily access the back of the switch.
My buddy with an 02 just showed me how easy it is. The entire front section of your dash, from the far left, to the right of your airbag light, literally just pulls off. I wish my dash was that easy.
No offense my 12 year old godson takes mine off when I ask him, its that easy. Not sure how else to explain it to you. Best bet is to take it to the dealer.
i just wasnt sure if that was the part you guys were talking about. i thought you meant that the small little square piece that has the light on it pops out. thats why i was confused. i havent gotten around to popping it off, but if you say that its that easy, i shouldn't have a problem with it at all.
