1990 F350 sending unit back flow value and screen

Hi I'm new to this site. I have a problem with my 1990 F350 front fuel tank sending unit back flow value and screen (sending unit working fine) It's the screen and back flow value that is broken off..

I can't locate the back flow value and screen or even the whole unit.
I went to the parts counter at Ford and they said they didn't have one or find one. However, this dealer has never been very helpful.

Question: is there a back flow value and screen I can attach to the tube of the sending unit that will work for a diesel tank.

Thanks in advance.

Joe

By "back flow valve" I assume you mean check valve or non return valve? Did not know there was such a thing on a diesel. However if this is the fuel pickup pipe that has broken (not uncommon) most guys just cut a V in a length of fuel proof pipe, push it over the broken pipe and secure with a hose clamp. If you want to reuse the broken off piece you could rejoin it with a short length of hose and two clamps.

Thank You Lazy K for replying.
That is what I was saying.

My problem is the check Valve I think is making the truck hard to start.

The Valve and screen are broken to pieces.

I did locate one in PA 308.60 including shipping.

So I think I'm going to order that.

Thanks again.

OK, check with partsguyed.com and see if you can get a price or go down the main forum a bit to the diesel section and try posting on the pre-power stroke (IDI) page, the guys there might know the best place to get it.

The new unit came today. I got it from a dealer in PA.
Everything with the new wire connector and Shipping $340.00
If it was not for the valve I would have just put a hose on the end.
It came in one day with ground service (UPS)

I could not find the part on the site you recomended.

I don't know how to post Pictures of the unit.

I will post after it's back together.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...pics-here.html Here is a link on how to post pics. Unless you pay the $20.00 to become a "supporter" you cannot post directly from your computer.
Sometimes I think it may be worth being a supporter as you don`t get bombarded with ads and you have access to the unrestricted pages.
However glad you got the part. Partsguyed maybe doesn`t have everything but he is hard to beat for OEM Ford parts, if available.
