Not pump. The big heavy gearbox that is on the frame and that moves all your steering links is what causes this. Why, I do not know, however I do know that it is hard to replace sometimes. Mine needs to be replaced, for it leaks - someone please shoot me now and put me out of my misery.

I have been told by several people that when the steering gear box starts acting up, it is much less aggravating to just buy a new one and replace it, instead of trying to repair the old one.

replaced my gearbox back in august, only took 45 minutes not hard at all, just be careful cause it is a little bit heavy lifting it over your head up into the frame rail, definately dont want to accidently drop it and have it smush your head lol
