rear speed sensor
94 f250 7.3 torbo diesel. transmisson light keeps comming on, tranrsmisson doing funny things . Code: said it was the rear speed sensor, been replaced 3 times still the same thing keeps happening.

Sounds to me like you've got two possibilities. 1st one is a short in the wiring. Check your harness and see if something has rubbed bare. 2nd one is that the tone ring is full of crap. I've seen it where the sludge was bad enough in the pumpkin that the tone ring was practically smooth, and the speed sensor couldn't pick it up. Pull the diff cover and inspect or clean the tone ring.

My experince is if your speedo is working your speed sensor is working. had to replace my computer. my problem was tach coming and going replaced tach sensor and still tach would come and go located computer in driver side kick panel if i gave kick panel a good spankin the tach would come back also the light would come on o/d button when tach would quit. I cleaned and checked every plug a hundred times it drove me up a wall. Does your do what mine did?
