ill start with just one for now. im going to be getting a edelbrock intake and 600cfm carb. Right now both are stock, but when i do switch them can i use the stock transmission kick down lever or will i have to get a new one?
I would think it will work as its a low rise intake I would confirm this with someone that actually had this manifold the high rise intakes is what I would imagine giving you fitment issues
next thing i wanted to know, is my engine is leaking colant out of this part i dont know what the name of it is so i can replace it. and is it bad to be leaking from here
on all the Fords I put Intakes and carbs on there has been little issues with the kick down.So issues has been the throttle linkage that bolts to intake. On my trck now I have a 1977 linkage it just goes to the carb to the gas pedel. On my Mustang there was a kit to make the factory linkage work,I think it was offered thru Eldelbrock
for that part that is leaking coolant looks like you could take it out and put some thread sealant on the threads and would stop the leak.. i had the same intake and carb setup on mine i didnt have to change the linkage from the pedal to the carb but not sure on the kick down.. if its not a high rise intake it should just match up
I have a 70 F100 with a 302 3 speed auto. I replacedthe stock intake manifold with a low rise intake that has 525 CFM eledbrock on top. I took the stock kick down off. You really don't need it. When I step on it, it shifts down automatically.
As for the leak on the intake. You will need to replace the heater hose connections to the new intake and get some plugs for the extra holes that yuou will not use. so for now, just clamp off your hoses and take out the intake connection, put some white tape on it and put in back in.
