I was under the truck the other day and noticed that the transmission pan had a sheen... Had a full film of trans fluid but not really dripping. Is there a typical small leak on these?
Here's another question, since I have the later model 351 HO (PO swap that I only found out about the hard way...) would it still be the C-6 trans or could it be the E4OD? How can I find out for sure?
It's probably still a C6 as the e4od is computer controlled and takes a lot of money and effort to convert it. It could be an AOD also. I'll let others tell the easiest ways to tell them apart. as far as the leak I would get a can or 2 of brake cleaner and spray it off then check it closely after a short drive, then keep an eye on until you see a wet spot forming

Good call on the conversion... I'll clean it up tomorrow. Today is the wife's birthday!
Yep, id for sure replace the filter while your in their. I just order a gasket and filter set for my C6 tranny and it only ran me 9 bucks. So its a pretty cheap fix.
