Question Fan Sputter

I've got a 93 Explorer and the air blower seems to be acting up. When the fan is running it is making a sputtering sound, and if you feel the motor while it is on there seems to be some vibration coming from it, is it time for a new blower or could the resistor be the problem? Since I've gotten it doesn't seem like is moving the amount of air it should so I am kind of suspecting it is the motor. Thanks in advance!

Fan Sputter

Try pulling the fan out and check for debris (leaves, etc.) in the
heater box. The most common symptom with the resistors
going bad, is the fan will only work in the "high" position....
