i mounted an engine mounted pto compresor on my 97 powerstroke today and the intake now needs to be relocated. i can make my own steel intake tube and put a filter on it but i noticed there is a sensor on the side of the inake box. what sensor is it? what does it do? and can i remove it? or is there an easier way to get rid of it, thanks!

I am not really sure what the sensor does. I had to replace my air box and went with the 6673 filter. I just tied the sensor up out of the way and I have not had a problem with it. That was about 2 years ago.
I'm sure someone will chime in on what the sensor does.
I wanted to pick a day where it was around 45-50 degrees (when I know the butterfly valve on the turbo won't close because it's not cold enough) and wrap that sensor in a baggy full of ice and water.
Goal is to get the sensor cold and see if that's the one that tells the butterfly valve to close behind the turbo.
