Ranger Help
What is the best way to convince my parents to get me a ranger. I would like to have the 94-97 body style with 4.0 and 5 speed. Is there any downfalls to this combo. Is it possible to raise to front on these trucks to level it out by cranking down on the torsion bars.

Those years do not have torsion bars. All Rangers prior to 98 were coil springs. After 98, some but not all 4x2's are coil spring.
The 4x2's that are torsion bar front suspension have 4x4 ride height. Tell your parents I said it was ok for you to get a Ranger.
That should go over real big.

No they like the idea of me getting a ranger. they just want me to keep the 1987 ex-cab long bed for now. What about the shift rail plugs. does that apply to these years

Check out the insurance rates. My insurance co will charge 2X as much for insurance on a Toyletoda (toyota) 4x4 X-cab, and 1.5X more for a S-10 4x4 X-cab. For me, that meant $325 a year and it's been 8 years; that's alot of dough. Oh what a feeling, toyota.
