I have a 79 f-150 4x4 and am doing a body swap. This truck had been sitting for many years so I dropped the fuel tanks to get out all of the bad gas. The front tank (the plastic one) that runs along the frame rail has a metal shroud around it like a mounting bracket/skid plate. Mine has rust holes in it. Does anyone know where I can get a new or better one?

Where are you at in WA? Tony's in Portland had some the last time I was there.
Figures. Portland is at the north end of Ore. and I am directly north on the other end of Wa. near the Canada border. Got a number for me?
Forgot to add to my last post. You can rebuild it. I bought a piece of 16 ga steel sheet and cut and formed pieces over a piece of railroad iron with a deadblow hammer. Mine was pretty well rusted out, but the upper edges and the front and rear 2 or 3 inches were ok. I sand blasted what was left to get clean metal to weld to and cut pieces that went from the mounting angle all the way around to the other side. Made them so they were comfortable to work with, about 12 -18 inches wide. Took me a while with a mig and die grinder, but it looks pretty original and the tank fits good. I had to get creative doing some of the compound bends (a little bondo helped), but it is doable. I could maybe get a picture of it on the truck, I didn't take any pictures while it was in progress.
