Auto Trans Linkage adjustment

Gentlemen. I have a 78 2wd AT C4 . After replacing the oil pan gasket and all that entails,the transmission would not go into park as it should. So I would start her up in neutral. Fine. Now I have adjusted the linkage to where everything lines up as it should. Turn the key to start and...nothing. No click. Lights and wipers come on. New starter. I go back down and tighten the nut to spec and she starts up right away. Cool.4 min later. Now she won't start again and the nut tightening trick isn't working either. Wont start in neutral,no click. Where do I begin?

Do you still have the neutral safety switch? It could be flaking out and causing the no start issue. That is what I would check to see if it is the problem or not.
